CAM Software for High-Performance Machining, Engineered by Makino
The FFCAM System
In precision mold machining, where micron-level accuracy and reduced cycle times must be achieved simultaneously, the CAM system plays a decisive role. It must generate toolpaths that suppress heat buildup during cutting and minimize tool-related failures, even under high-speed, high-feed conditions.
As a leading manufacturer of precision mold machining centers with a strong global presence, Makino developed FFCAM to help users unlock the full capability of their machines.
At the core of FFCAM is its ability to generate optimal toolpaths — from roughing to finishing — based on our proprietary FF (Fast Finish) machining theory. This enables stable, high-speed machining with significantly reduced tool wear and a lower risk of tool breakage. FFCAM also incorporates field-proven cutting conditions drawn from the extensive machining expertise we have accumulated as a machine tool manufacturer.
Flexible Expansion to Match Your Needs
FFCAM combines Standard Features with a range of Optional Features, allowing you to select the modules best suited to your business scale and production environment. For operations considering or already running 5-axis machining, a complete starter configuration can be assembled with Simultaneous 4/5-Axis Machining, the Machine Simulator, and the VERICUT Interface. To advance automation further, Tool Assist — which recommends the optimal tool for each operation — can be added as well.
